It looks like a domestic dispute, how sad. More and more violent cases we see every day, and then you hear them say "I got licks and I turned out just fine". Really?

A 68-YEAR-OLD pensioner and her daughter are both in a serious condition at hospital after they were stabbed several times about their face and neck on Monday night.

A male suspect has since been arrested and remained in police custody at Morvant Police Station up to last night.

Investigating officers said sometime around 9 p.m., the woman, who was identified as Patricia Deecan, and her daughter, Patrice Joseph, 32, had an altercation with a male relative who later pulled out a knife and stabbed the two.

The incident took place at the women’s home at Valley Drive, Upper Sixth Avenue, Barataria.

After stabbing them, the 32-year-old suspect fled the scene, said police.

Neighbours who heard screams coming from the house rushed to the women’s assistance and took them to Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope. Source 5
