Title: Promises that are never fulfilled

Comments: The fact that we have so many murders in Trinidad bearing in mind the size of this island and its population is most alarming. More disturbing is the fact that there is no haste whatsoever, by those in the corridors of power to take the necessary action to stem the flow of these violent killings. They have turned their backs on ordinary voters and have left the police to deal with our murderers, serious criminals, and galloping general lawlessness. They just don't want to know. Politicians here are now obviously immune to the slaughter of our innocent citizens. They offer a lot of lip service which is never followed by any quick or any action at all. For weeks, now we have been hearing about their attempts to restoring the death penalty and start hanging our detained murderers. However, like most investigations and probes or any other political matter except those dealing with money matters here, the idea is slowly fading away, being swept no doubt under the carpet. It all amounts to flash in the pan statements where politicians have failed to consulted other important citizens on the adverse subjects they wish to redress.. The other reasons for not enforcing these promises properly is because they really don't care about our ordinary citizens. Moreover, they appear to have lost all morals and compassion and give the impression to be only interested in the financial aspects of politics in the governance of this nation, by spending most of their time in trying to invent and introduce new methods of extracting money from our ordinary citizens who are battling to make two ends meet. The long and short of it all is that politicians here continue to make promises they cannot fulfill.

Title: The Jack Warner saga

Comments: In my opinion, the cogs of the machinery of judiciary corruption in the Jack Warner saga is operating at full speed. This is now evident as reflected in the latest aspect of this case where the request by the USA has been thrown out. Please bear in mind that the USA court has already dealt with others involved to a lesser degree in this corruption scandal, and was not subjected this type of legal objection. I am now even more certain that in the end as I have always indicated that Jack Warner will walk free because of the high degree of corruption that exists here on this island. The salient aspects, in this case, are that Jack Warner has denied any wrong -doing in respect of the alleged charge of corruption but he is, however, still trying, to avoid his extradition to face a trial in the USA. Then there is the persistence of his lawyers in the attempt to manipulate the machinery of our legal system, on his behalf and in this process consciously or unconsciously attempting to cause a rift between this country and the USA over the protocol of an already signed agreement pertaining to the extradition of our citizens to America. The final outcome if Jack and his lawyers are successful will obviously be another bad example of why our citizens have no respect for the police and our judiciary, and why we have so many budding criminals especially, in the white collar sector. Generally speaking, the impression given is that the legalities that uphold law and order here are now been manipulated in the wrong direction and integrated and applied together with our gutter politics. It is just a matter of greed supplemented by one law for those of status and wealth and another for the poor. The writing is clearly on the wall. No one here of status or in a position of authority is ever going to switch off the engine off that drives the machinery of corruption on this island. The protectors of the suspected criminals of status, wealth, and generators of crime here have too many financial 'kick- backs' to lose. .As they say, money can't buy you, love. However, here it could buy you your freedom.

Title: Jack Warner

Comments: Tomorrow will be 90 days, yes 3 months since I made my comment with regards to the Jack Warner saga, and since then nothing has happened with regards to the progress of this matter. I am fully aware of the snail pace in which our legal system work However, since this is an international matter of importance involving the FBI and other individuals which needed a quick response and bearing in mind too, that others involved have already been dealt with, I remain bamboozled as to why there is such a long delay in dealing locally with this matter. We must also consider the fact that the local police did say at one time, that there would be a local probe/investigation into the affairs of Jack Warner which was never implemented. Jack must clear his name of these allegations and the only way of doing so is to attend any court hearing associated with this matter in a USA court.Bypassing or trying to avoid such court attendance will only leave doubts about his innocence.
